Logo
The Wirraway Mirrim group have recently obtained a new logo that you will see on this site. Logo artwok is designed by Shawana Andrews.

Artwork
The artwork was developed in consultation with members of the Wirraway Mirrim group. It represents the diversity of these Indigenous researchers coming together to meet in a group. Possum skin cloaks are worn in the logo as a strong cultural symbol for many Victorian Koori communities. Early depictions of Koori people drawn by Koori people are rare, so William Barak's drawings of styles of possum skin cloak wearing were a basis for this logo. Wirraway Mirrim was conceived and meets on the traditional lands of the Kulin people, so it seemed obvious to reflect and pay our respects to an iconic artist of this nation. Artwork designed by Karen Adams & Peter Waples-Crowe.
